Apple's Next Generation IPods

The world of web is buzzing hot with the rumors of Apple's Next generation Ipod's to be launched on September 9 on the occasion of Apple hosting an event called "Lets Rock".

With the first generation of Ipod's sweeping the world of it's feet, the atomphere is getting excited with rumors spreading more and more. The next gen ipod's are to have a price cut and that's for sure.f gossips are to be believed the smallest in the iPod range, nano is set for a complete makeover. iPod Touch too will wear a new look with higher memory upgrade. The event is also likely to announce price cuts. According to analysts, the price of iPod Touch models need to be cut because they have a higher starting price than the company's second-generation iPhone launched in June.

It is also being speculated that Tuesday's event marks the end of hard-drive-based iPod Classic. A few tech sites indicate that Apple may not upgrade the player this time. Probably because as the Flash-based players continue to line-up, this may soon die its own death.

Last year, traditional iPods were morphed into the iPod Classic available in 160 GB hard drive. All generations use a 1.8-inch hard drive for storage.

Apple may kill the Classic as soon as flash capacity becomes more competitive.Pod Touch which sells for $299 in the United States, is expected to cost $249 or $299 for 16 GB model, $349 or $399 for 32GB and $499 for 64GB version.

The third-gen iPod nano which sells for $149 for 4GB version and $199 for an 8GB model may not show any major price cut.

So, let us hold our breath and wait for What Apple has in store for us this time..
